Corrosion Integrity Management (CIM)

Corrosion Integrity Management Ltd (CIM) has been set up to provide technical services to the corrosion and coatings industry.

CIM’s primary function is performing Failure Analysis to establish the root cause of failure and to act as Expert Witness should the case be elevated.

CIM have worked on cases in NW Australia, Kuwait, Qatar, Indonesia, Chile and UK in a diverse market sector to include Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Infrastructure and Civil Building.

Our expertise lies in, atmospheric coatings in aggressive environments, internal tank linings, internal pipeline coatings, claddings and fire protection.

Such challenges as what action to take when the internal lining of a 200Km pipeline is failing before it’s been commissioned, when 50% of it is already buried.

Or what is the consequence of a failing Intumescent Coating on a car park which is below a public building. The client wants to know why its failing, who’s at fault and how to fix it.

Experience counts in this area of the market and CIM are able to draw on a number of associates from the industry.

David Mobbs is the Technical Director, a Professional Member of the Institute of Corrosion, a member of the Expert Witness Institute and a Chartered Engineer. He has worked in the corrosion and coatings Industry since 1980 having worked for 2 global paint manufactures, a pipeline contractor and an Oil & Gas Engineering House.

Alex Garner is an Associate of CIM who works on specific projects within his expertise and in particular Pipeline and Fire. Alex has spent a lifetime working for the London Engineering Houses to include Bechtel and KBR. He is also a course provider in the hydrocarbon fire protection course offered by PFPNet.

David Corrigan offers additional expertise in the analysis of laboratory testing and has a wealth of expertise in this field formally Lab Manager at the PRA.

Andy Taylor is a Chemist by trade, and his expertise is to provide insight on the testing, use and condition of passive fire protection systems helping clients fulfil their regulatory requirements. He provides advice on the testing, assessment, design, and condition of fire resisting construction materials. He is also Technical Officer for the Association of Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP), the UK’s Passive Fire Protection Trade Association.
